Not so Good Weather, Not so Good Times

It always seems that the good times rises  and falls as quickly as the weather.  In a blink of an eye, we get nice flat placid seas.  Then, snap, the wind picks up, the swell picks up and we find ourselves tossed around in the seas.

We deployed a piece of equipment yesterday that was supposed to be picked up today.  It's 6pm local time and we're still looking for it.  Not only are we being tossed around, the pack ice that we passed a few days ago caught up to us with the 50+knot winds.  All science has been put on hold.  All I can say is that the RVIB Palmer is one smooth ride.  Well as smooth as it can be with the big swells and winds.

when the winds die down, the science will be back in business.  For now, it's paperwork and paperwork and more paperwork…..joy!  oh yeah.. hitting up the gym, the lounge (with cheesy movie showing), and beating Marko (one of the Marine Techs [or MT] that claimed he was good at scarbble….) at scrabble.  I do have to say though, running on a treadmill on a boat is definitely more interesting than running on it on dry land.

Till the next eventful day.
