A Day at the office……

It's down to the wire for this part 1 of 2 cruise.  Exit station time is 1800 on the 25th of june.  We really have to leave by then to make port call on the morning of the 30th of june.  So, now, it's the mad dash to get as much sampling done as possible.   This will be short….we passed by a little berg with penguins on it.  It's kinda fun watching the penguins, especially when they try to get on the shelf of the iceberg.  Lots of slipping and sliding and an occasional help from the swells.  It's like ones very own nature channel.  There were rumors of whales, but I guess they passed in the distance.

We had sunshine for the first time in awhile.  I got to watch a beautiful sunrise from the bridge this morning.  Sunrise is around 7am-ish.  I was on the bridge to tell the mate on watch where to go for our sampling.  It was pretty neat seeing the iceberg (A43K…the one we have been studying) in the early morning light.  it sure beat having overcast days and way better than having the sun set at 2pm and be pitch black outside by 3pm.

ok.....Back to work…..
