the water was so clear (or it was so shallow) that we could see three of it's props. here's a link to the background of the bahia paraiso...http://antarcticmarc.com/bahia.html...to this day, there is still oil leaching out of the hull, even after operations were conducted to remove all diesel from the ship.

Wally, Eric, Brendon

low tide reveals the hull of the bahia, an argentine vessel that grounded by Palmer station the same year as the exxon valdez fiasco.
anyhoo, circling the Bahia a bit, we headed for Old Palmer. Upon tying up (and it was quite a feat...meaning somebody couldn't find/remember where the official tie point was), we wandered the island, heading for the fallen ice arch first. then we headed out onto the point where we could see arthur harbor, the glacier behind the station and the backyard of the station.

one side of the ice arch that was.
it was a gorgeous day and calm. good day for getting off the island and visiting others. a good day for getting out of town.
